I fuckin' hate doing laundry
It's the bane of my existence.

Tonight is laundry night. I just went downstairs to the laundry room to move my clothes from the washers to the dryers. Well, one of the washers decided to take my money and not actually wash my clothes. (I know, I should have waited around a little longer in the laundry room to make sure the thing started up right in the first place.)

Anyway, I had to move the clothes to a washer that I know works, then trudge back to the apartment to grab the detergent again. (And yes Will, I did check to make sure it was the Tide and not the bleach.) Then trudge back to the laundry room IN THE RAIN to re-do that load.

So now it's all added another half hour to laundry night and I'm wet from the rain and ARGHHHHH I HATE DOING LAUNDRY!

That is all.

7. Honestly, what I hate...
is having to do laundry in the laundry facility in my apartment complex. You never know which machines are suddenly going to decide not to work. And there's the schlepping laundry back and forth. I don't like that part.

I didn't mind doing laundry so much when I lived with my folks and there was a washer and dryer right there handy.

14. One mistake
you have made is you designate the night you do laundry. I hate it myself and I have found out that if you just let it happen it will be a much less traumatic experience. If you have to ABSOLUTELY do laundry it works out to be a rewarding experience. Once you start digging for the cleanest dirty shirt you know it's close to the time. But don't give up hope yet, You can always go buy clean shorts and a shirt. I have expanded my wardrobe immensely this way.

25. I wash and dry between 15.4 and 16.1 loads a week.
This is for 3 people. I have actually been griped at for not folding them, and just laying the clean clothes on the dining room table. What he heck do I do differently? Toss them all up in the air and they come down folded into my waiting arms like I'm Mary Fucking Poppins or something?

If the washer or dryer is not running, the quiet is so intense I suspect alien invasion is imminent.

8. I just finished my laundry
I was so mad, I had five machines going, I went down to put them in the dryer and one of the machines was stuck on 35 minutes, so it added...an extra 35 minutes to my laundry hell.

16. Honestly I don't hate doing laundry...
what I hate is having to go back and forth between the apartment and the laundry room. If I had my own washer and dryer you wouldn't see all these whiny posts from me about laundry night.

And yes...you are a freak. But not just because you love doing laundry. :)

18. Laundry, I don't mind. But I'll tell you what's a real pain in my ass.
Edited on Tue Jun-08-04 11:00 PM by NightTrain
Since I'm moving at the end of the month, I've been doing a lot of housework around the apartment. In the five years I've been here, I'm afraid I haven't done a whole lot of cleaning. It's something I hate to do, and since I live alone, no one has been around to give me a much-needed prodding. I knew that whenever my time came to move, I was going to bust my ass to get this place clean!

So far this week, I've swept the kitchen and bathroom floors (and will eventually be on my hands and knees scrubbing them), vacuumed the wall-to-wall carpeting, and scrubbed the fuck out of the bathroom sink and tub. Due to excruciating pain in my lower back, I'm currently taking a break from cleaning the oven.

The apartment is looking better, but all this work is knocking the piss out of me! :nopity:

19. Now I don't mind cleaning out the tub...
Edited on Tue Jun-08-04 11:13 PM by VelmaD
in fact I give mine a good scrub about once a week. But that's because I like to take long hot bubblebaths and I like to have a clean tub to do that in. :)

The rest of the cleaning I'm ambivalent about. I do it because it needs to be done.

21. Stop the hate. Laundry is not worthy of hate.
There are more important things to hate. Get some perspective. Embrace your life and the common tasks that bring to us all humility and reflection.

I love clean clothes.

24. Well, I survived another laundry night.
Everything is clean and dry and folded or hung in the closet. I'm exhausted and I'm going to curl up in my little coccoon of blankets. Sleepy time.

G'night all. :hi:

26. Laundry sucks, especially when
it involves quarters in anyway. I did the Laundromat/laundry room thing for years. Laundry hasn't become a joy since having my own washer and dryer, but it helps.

29. It's not the laundry you hate, but rather the laundry ROOM!
Having one's own laundry equipment makes laundry life MUCH easier.

Being homeless for the last week or so, I actually had to go to the laundromat. Ugh. Double ugh!
