My letter to ET(entertainment tonite) re: Arnold

Dear Sir:
As a lifelong Democrat, I take offense at your almost full time arnold coverage. It is now past the point of entertainment and entered the realm of politics. Democrats are getting offended statewide at all of this free face time during an election. Since it is not foreseeable that you can or will correct this practice I will begin to Boycott ET and begin contacting your local sponsors on KMIR to advise them that concerned Democrats will no longer patronize their restaurants, stores, and showrooms. I will continue to watch for several more days ,in order to collect a list of businesses for Democrats to avoid

I always got the feeling that "Entertainment Tonight" was kinda ..I don't know how to explain it but let's just say I'm not surprised they are flooding the airwaves with arnie!

more likely they're just giddy at the prospect of seeing "one of their own" attain office.

if Martin Sheen chose to run for elected office you'd probably see the same kinda coverage.

I've never watched the show - imho, it jump the shark years ago - I can't stand to even surf pass all the "personality" noise ... our society is ODing on this celebrity stuff ...

I did just visit ET's website ... and, there's more Ahh-nold --on the frontpage micromedia flash ... Maria on the campaign trail with Ahhnold ...

August 22, 2003 | ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER told ET's MARK STEINES that we'll be seeing more of MARIA SHRIVER, saying, " ... she'll be on the campaign trail very soon." Arnold also told Mark he's having a great time stumping, "because we are doing something positive. We're going to take the state back. We're going to take the government back." Meanwhile, 50 miles north in Los Angeles, TOM HANKS was reacting to a story in the New York Post that claimed the Oscar® winner was fuming over a Los Angeles Times article that said their mutual talent agency CAA had been approached to support Arnold. "As I never read the L.A. Times article in question, I am furious about nothing," Hanks responded, "and have never had any conversations about any of the candidates. The Post has published a story which is, well, completely untrue."
