...but if you leave it on during cooking, it imparts a lot more flavor (and yes, a bit more fat) to the meat.

I like adding it to side dish recipes or even prepackaged stuff like rice a roni. I also have marinaded it in a variety of things including teryaki, salad dressing, barbeque, and salsa.
