Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark
is STILL a great movie! :D

I'm watching the DVD I bought a couple of weeks ago.

1. It's an OUTSTANDING movie!
One of my alltime favorites. I need to pick up the DVD.

2. Great Flick. Too bad Spielberg changed the name for the DVD.
It was originally just called Raiders of the Lost Ark––no Indiana Jones.

Also, look quickly for Alfred "Doctor Octopus" Molina in his screen debut as Indy's South American guide.

4. I noticed that
I didn't realize it was Molina until the credits came up tonight. :D

5. Hell of an actor, Molina
Really liked him in Boogie Nights and Frida.

I've been watching Raiders since I was a kid and it never registered that it was he.

8. According to IMDB...
I should have also recognized him from Chocolat and Maverick (the one with Mel Gibson). I guess he just has one of those faces...

9. Chocolat is terrific!
I love Chocolat! :D

Alfred's doing well on Broadway now as Tevia.

7. At least they didn't change the title in the film's actual credits.
It's probably just as much G. Lucas' fault. He's going to drive me mad with his obsessive tinkering with past films.

3. I was just thinking about the end of the movie
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 09:14 PM by Tummler
I would love to see the penultimate scene -- the one where the Nazis open the Ark -- remade with Cheney as Todt, Ashcroft as Belloq, and Rumsfeld as the other guy (the SS officer, or whatever he was, on the podium with them).

Note to our special lurker "Mike": my remake would use special effects, not actual violence or face-melting.

11. I'm sure there's a Fedora at a
Thrift Store near you. That sounds like a great costume.

"intriguing"
(Please don't forget to bring your whip though)
;-)

Raiders of the lost Ark is my ATF movie.

12. Michael Moore?
Watching the credits, it listed a "Michael Moore" as a Second Unit Director. Can't be the same person, can it?

15. Yes, but you can't buy the DVD.....
Unless you get the set of all 3. I really don't like the "Temple of Doom"--not enough to own it.

But that's what Netflix is for!
