So I had my job interview today...
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 12:07 AM by Lestat
at the Douglas County Land & Resource Management for the water quality internship. It went by ok, I guess.

After the interview, they told me that I'll hear from them later this week if I get the job or not. From experience, when someone says that, it really means "We're not interested in you. Bugger off." :(

Oh well. I saw that Taco Bell is hiring...:(

2. .......
I know, but fast food was my last choice for work. It's far down the list from an internship. :(

That's what i do, pays the bills. Isn't too hard on the body or the mind. Truckers are always in demand, too.

6. Yeah
There are a lot of companies that will agree to pay for your training and licensing if you agree to work for them for a year. That's how I got my start.

5. Welcome to my boat.
I'm getting ready to go into the military to pay for a actual education. Job market is deader than doornails.

16. You are correct sir!
They have:
Less stringent enterance standards (I'm a tad overweight)
Better technical training
More safety than the Army/Marines
And the same benefit under the GI bill.

So it's actually looking like a good option for me. Can barely afford rent and car insurance, can't afford gas to get to and from work, then boss cut my hours before going under. Fucking sucks.

9. Good luck with that.
My friend just graduated college, and he joined the Guards four years ago to pay for his education. This summer, he was supposed to go to field camp and it was also going to be the end of his time in the guards, but instead, the government decided to ship him out to Iraq or Afghanistan (he doesn't know where yet). He's really pissed and upset about that. I don't blame him.

15. Did you send a thank you letter?
I had this horrible job interview one time. The next morning I faxed in a thank you letter and the lady called back in 15 minutes offering me the job. After the interview she had even said it would be a week before they make any decisions.

18. Recently had an interview as well
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 01:33 AM by Champ
It went very well but towards the end when he asked my age "17", he said he couldn't hire me because I was 18 but said "Please give me a call when your 18 and if your still on the market." Glad I did well and may have an opening for when I turn 18 but disappointed at the same time.
