What impression did the movie "The Warriors" make on you?
"Warriors, come out to playyyyyyyaaayyyyyy"

"The Warriors Shot Cyrus!"

I loved this movie as a prepubescent boy, The Baseball Furies, The Orphans . . . & who can forget The Lizzies!

Now I like it because it reminds me of the skuzzy NYC of my youth!

1. My impression
1. Do not kill the most powerful gang member in NY. It will cause you to miss your train.

2. If one ignores 1. above, go shoot the DJ. IT will make life a lot easier.

5. Great flick!
I was shocked and disappointed when I was talking with some folks in the early 30s and they had never heard of the movie!

Man did I feel old.

7. It was a modern retelling of Homer's Odyssey
Or, at least, that's how I analyzed it in film class!

I loved the movie.

12. It gave me a very weird impression of New York...
I saw it when I was 8 at a drive in. We saw all our movies at the drive in back then. I remember the Baseball Furies the most. And of course, like most 8 year olds at the time, I had no idea what a Lizzie was and why it was weird. We were so naive back then.

The Anabasis of Xenophon was what one read in those days in Greek II. The plot, and the character of Cyrus (the Persian King of Kings) were lifted wholesale from the Anabasis. Xenophon, the 4th c. mercenary had been hired by Cyrus, and after Cyrus got whacked led his fellow Greeks across three hundred hostile miles of Anatolia back down to safe Greek territory on the sea.
