I made a Flash movie -- It's called "Shock and Awe"
I had to make it after I came across a sermon on the internet where the pastor used that theme.

It was so appalling, I decided he needed some bombs and stuff going off in the background to punctuate his frightening words. :nuke: It was hard to edit it down . . . he said so many outrageous things, but I tried.

If you have time to look at it, I would appreciate your thoughts! I am concerned about one thing especially.

1. Does it load slowly or quickly? It is 3MB. If you have a slow connection, do you see the "loading screen?"

The movie is at http://www.boobooday.com/shocknawe.swf

It's not funny, even though humor is my usual way of dealing with insanity -- the sermon pissed me off! It made me remember why I mostly avoid churches, except for the Unitarians and the Quakers, God love em . . .

Of course you must have the Flash player installed, but you probably do.

1. Very quick load... good piece.
Of course, my connection is very, very fast. I waited only a second. Good footage.

3. That was awesome, Booboo...
(I resisted saying shocking and awesome.)

It loaded right away on my DSL. My only criticism was the fact that the audio was very distorted at higher volumes.

Other than that, great job. I will pass it on to friends.

The appalling preacher's name is Jim Cymbala. I found the sermon by searching for "shock and awe." The whole thing is here:

http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=2109

He goes on and on, it is hard to believe that people sat in a church and listened to this and said "Amen" (which they did).

I'm glad everyone can load it! I remember my teacher two years ago telling us we should never make something that was over 1MB! haha. Now we've got the POWER.

I may go back and work on the audio -- it was hard to get the preacher's level up enough to be heard, and ever since Cool Edit sold out to Adobe, my audio editing capabilities have been compromised. :-)

And unfortunately, this war has provided many appalling images, for people who don't watch tv, that is. Those people never see them.

I appreciate your feedback!!!

7. very nice - comments in body of message
you need to filter the audio as it crackles badly. I'd recommend either ressampling the composite audio streams at 44kb/s in Flash to see if that helps. It will increase the file size considerably though. Or using a piece of freeware like Audacity to process the audio and remove the "clipped peaks" in the sound effects track.

Nice work though :)

8. Thanks!
I know I need to work on the audio. The original vocal track was low-level, and then when I put the bombs in . . .

I used to have Cool Edit, until they sold out to Adobe and I couldn't update anymore. I wanted to normalize the sermon -- I think that would have helped.

I will try to work it again though. Right now I am using my looping program, ACID.

You recommend Audacity? Do you have a recommendation for a $50 - $75 program for simple editing?
