4. I just bought a brand new swamp cooler for $0.00

I was amazed.. Our local power company is giving $250 cash rebates if you replace your old AC with an efficient AC model or a swamp cooler. I bought a $250 model so it was free. Quite a deal, and quite surprising that our soulless public utility appears to have genuine concern with reducing energy use.
