(rant) Why can't people take care of things, or fess up?
I just pulled out my fishing gear, which my mom sent from Alabama. It was sent to me nicely packaged, so nothing could happen to it.

My Shimano IX 2000R is in fine shape. So's my old Lew's Laser.

The Abu Garcia Cardinal Agenda AG3F Spincast is in great shape.

I thought my Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5501 CL3 left handed bait cast reel was in good shape, until I started testing it.

The handle's bent, and the cap holding the handle on is missing, only the nut remains. The nut barely fits now.

The handle is a chunk of metal at least 1/4 inch thick, and I can't bend it by hand. So somebody did this. I suspect her boyfriend, who enjoys fishing.

So, the replacement parts won't cost that much. But why not say something? Did he think I wasn't going to notice that the handle couldn't turn?

This is a $70 reel, and left handed baitcasts are hard to find. This just pisses me off. Yeah, I can fix it, but I wish I had known a month or so ago, so I could have ordered the parts already.

1. I hear you!!!
people can't take responsibility for anything anymore.....

Funny, I was thinking the same thing yesterday...man, did I want to rant. :)
Dumb issues, but something needed to be done at work with our computers (the IT people instructed us to do some stuff on the office computers) I went around making sure things were done (to make a long story very short) I went to my usual section, arrogant summer student didn't do things. "We don't have time", you *have* to do it (but they have time to chat and email) we were told to per email, it's not a matter of choice?

For some odd reason I just fumed inside, it's like the SIMPLEST things they were told to do, yet, no. OTHER people are BUSY, sweets, NOT you (I didn't say that out loud).

If I hadn't gone over there, they probably wouldn't have done the task. Geesh, it was SUCH a simple thing to do......it's like when I was fire warden and we had a drill, I was working in another building that day and COULDN'T be there, my alternate was gone, I found another person to do the drill. Come 30 minutes BEFORE the drill I get a call they couldn't help me out (it's a small office, why not?)........so I went back to the office to see what was up, and management FINALLY got another person to do that, and I went back to the building I was supposed to be working in.......

sorry for my *little* rant. I'm just too tightly wired, I guess. :)

I'm okay, it's just that I've about HAD it with lackadaisical (??) attitudes.
