Funeral Arrangements for Ray Charles
The funeral for Ray Charles will take place in Los Angeles near the end of this week.

It will be at the historic FAME (First African Methodist Episcopal) Church in Los Angeles. FAME is located off of the Santa Monica Freeway near Western and Adams Blvd.

I am going to do my best to get some pictures. I'm sure that people will be lining the streets for miles.

This link tells more about the details of his life and the legend that is RAY CHARLES.

1. Wish I could be there.
Ray Charles gave much to this sorry world as opposed to that piece of human waste who was also buried this week and whose name I won't mention in the same sentence with Ray Charles.

Rather than a five or six day nauseating national spectacle, I would have preferred spending six or seven days locked away someplace listenting to Ray Charle's music, especially "Georgia." He was truly a great man.

3. 5 days for ray
If there are visuals and something to cover, it could get excellent media coverage.

The country needs a bluesy funeral, a joyous noise fit for the passing of a great musician.

4. I sure hope Bill Clinton or Clint Eastwood get to speak at the funeral
And before anyone starts yelling that Eastwood is a freeper, you're wrong. He was present to honor Ray Charles last April at the opening of a site dedicated to Charles (can't remember the name) and he also produced and directed Byrd a tribute to the great Charlie Byrd.

As for Clinton, need I say more.

6. One more time: A State Funeral For Ray Charles!!!
A national Day of Mourning, while we're at it. His likeness on Mount Rushmore and his picture on the twenty-dollar bill.

It's the right thing to do.

:loveya:

(Imagining the SINGING that will be done at this funeral!)

Far rarer than a politician is one who brings joy and lightness into the world through music.

Godspeed, Ray Charles!
