Who's the King when Q.E II bites the grass?
Someone was telling me that Prince Charles won't get to be king and that they were skipping straigt to William. This saddened me because I've looked forward to seeing a monach who has expressed a wish to be a tampon. Of course people are often incorrect and this guys seemed questionable at best. So I ask you, oh learned lounge lizards, who will be the next Canadian head of state?

4. Just goes to show what a selfish person the Queen be
You would think she step aside for her son to be King NOW. That way she look good, the Charlie guy looks good, and the England guys get to see a coronation and look good.

6. Keep going till you croak. It's tradition
A coronation is a big party to make you feel better about your parent's death.

19. Good idea.
Start with Trudeau. Then, go cultural. Like the Mackenzie Brothers.

12. Haven't they given up on that stupid little Monarchy thing yet?
I say that when Q.E dies everyone should just not bring it up and maybe they'll forget about the whole thing...

15. You're assuming she's mortal...

Her insides were replaced with robotics and gin years ago. Notice nobody has seen her legs in ages? She wears floor-length gowns because her legs have been replaced with an all-terain tripodal sort of gizmo. The third leg was required to help bear the additional weight of all the robotics, and to help her scale vertical surfaces.

20. I hereby volunteer for the job.
That is, if they're not giving it to His Absorbency. I can even do that fruity little wave. And I'm really good at spending money, plus I won't go around irritating people with my opinions about architecture.

You don't even have to put me on the money.

Oh, and I already have the third leg.

16. I don't think Charles can ascend since he divorced.
If I remember correctly, Divorce precludes Charles from acending, so it would go to William.

21. The divorce doesn't matter--Charles is a widower
Since Diana died, so conveniently. If he should marry Camilla her status may be questionable--her ex- is still alive, I believe. Do they do Morganatic marriages in England? That is, Camilla would not be Queen but accepted as the King's wife; their children would not be in line for the throne but I think Camilla's past that. Diana did supply 2 heirs--even if the younger looks more like one of her boyfriends.

The English don't have a tradition of monarchs "retiring"--& the whole thing is based on tradition, after all. Since the Queen Mother made it past 100, Charles may still have a long wait.
