The orginal seen in the theatres in 1982 seems like the " real" blade runner
but that is opinion, the elevator scene was followed by the sax starting to wail as a wide long shot of a horizon filled with clouds and mist gave way to a sunset over a valley with mountains in the background and Rick driving along in the convertible. As the camera comes in close on Rick the voice over from the first post begins.

I am always moved by Roy Batty's passing, where he talks about his life, and all of it will come to nothing in the end, just like everyone's.

6. I liked the original better than the 'Director's Cut'

Seems like the voiceover added something to it. Made it almost film noirish. Without it, it seems like it's missing something. Call me weird, but I liked the original.

FYI: The ending of the original was added at the last minute. The driving footage was borrowed from Stanley Kubrick's cutting room floor. The footage is from "The Shining".

performed by The New American Orchestra, the music you reference is called "Blade Runner Blues," arranged and orchestrated by Eddie Karam with Chuck Findley on the flugelhorn. I love the music, too...that's why I bought the album, many years ago. It's fantastic, if you can find it.

I think the Director's Cut takes away from the overall excellence of the film. The Ford dialogue, the old-school detective movie rap, added to the futuristic noir vibe.
