Sappy story in NY Times
"Michael Quattrone was feeling pretty invisible himself when he and Ms. Smith met in February 2000 while working on an Actors Studio production of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" She was playing the role of Honey, and he was an assistant stage manager, dressed in black and moving around backstage like a shadow.

His first thought when they met, he said, was "out of my league." Mr. Quattrone, 27, added, "It never occurred to me that she would be interested in a lowly stage manager.""

Your challenge - list the movies/books that were pretty much like this.

1. Great Expectations - in a twisted way.

1. Oh, I read that aloud to my family this AM!!
It's like a "kiss the frog and he turns into a handsome prince" story!

"Oh darling, I never dreamed you were the scion of robber barons!!"
