Ok, it's 2-1, Pistons.

Can the Laker's come back? In Auburn Hills? I doesn't look good, what with Malone gimped.

Give us your feedback.

1. Go Both Teams!
I hope LA wins to tie up at 2-2. I'm rooting for a 7 game series, I haven't liked both teams in an NBA Finals since the 76ers vs Lakers one but it was the same 76er team that could barely get past the first round in previous years.

They'll win in the most heartbreaking way imaginable, that's what they do. Just ask the Kings.. or the Trailblazers...

After verbally promising not to do so when the Pistons had to leave someone unprotected. Then they took him anyway.

6. This is an interesting game
Game 3 was the pivotal game for Detroit. The Pistons had to win that game to take control of this series.

Game 4 is THE game for Los Angeles. Last time they were against the wall, in Game 2, they came out with a lot of energy. I expect Los Angeles to give it a great effort tonight.

If I were Jackson, I'd pull Payton immediately if he's not effective. Unfortunately, they're not as deep, with Fisher hobbled.

coaches do that crap all the time and aren't called on it - ESPECIALLY in the finals and at the BEGINNING of a game. At the very least it should have been a warning

It was a great opportunity to shut him down and that ref knew exactly what he was doing

even special guys like Jackson should get the same consideration as all the other coaches in the finals too.

38. Bitching about the refs is just an excuse.
Your team has to be good enough and play well enough
to overcome all obstacles, including what you perceive
as bad officiating.

Using bad officiating as an excuse for your team's poor
play is kind of pathetic.

44. sounds so simple..
game 3 -- there were a lot of bad calls - but it wouldn't have mattered because the Lakers couldn't hit their shots.

In a tight game the bad calls (on both ends) and ticky tack calls take the game away from the players and that's what's not right regardless of which side is hurt from it.

Let them play the freaking game

and let the players play the game.

I still think it's kind of lame to blame the officials
either way. Bad officiating is something that the really
good teams overcome.

that last call against Fox cements my argument about how terrible this rec league crew of officials truly is. Sheed bodies up on Fox to get his separation, spins ands puts up the shot, Fox gets ALL BALL, and the refs blow the whistle. Fuggin ridiculous. These are the League Finals. Put some competent officials on the floor for fuck's sake!

You're a fan, and you have a fan's subjective
vision on what's happening. If the Lakers win,
your complaints will be moot. If they lose, it
won't be because of the officiating.

I'm just glad they seem to have come to play
tonight.

You say I proved your point. That's not true. Your point was
that the refs were unnecessarily hard on Jackson.

The refs have every right to make sure they control these games.
So, no I didn't not prove your point.

They always do this in the fourth quarter if it looks like the Lakers are going to get behind so far in the series that it won't go seven games. You watch...they'll give the ball to Shaq and call a foul every time the Lakers get the ball.

78. You don't know the content
of either of their comments.

But it is interesting to see that the only thing the Lakers are exhibiting of the Phil Jackson "great coaching" is an extraordinary amount of PISSING AND MOANING!

Bye Bye

I'll be partying Tuesday if the Pistons
win it in 5.

I can't wait.

Call me a bandwagon jumper if you want to, but I hate
the Lakers and I can definitely root for a Rasheed who
doesn't play for Portland.

76. Gee, Lakers getting a taste of their own medicine
Looks like they hate playing five on eight as much as rest of the league does. Quit bitchin' at the refs; they're not urping up those terrible shots.

Edited on Sun Jun-13-04 11:01 PM by nini
I agree.. the Lakers didn't play well enough.

I just hate how they don't let them play and some of this stupid stuff gets in the way.

This does NOT take away from the job the Pistons are doing - they are playing awesome ball and I'm not too proud to see that.

84. that was the point Mychal Thompson was making the other day.
fine if you allow that level of agressive play but just make it even on both sides. Simple as that.

do you get the show with Michael Cooper down there?

86. Yeah
Blazer fans are quite familiar with that phenomenon. Muggings at one end are acceptable; touch fouls of the august personage draw a whistle at the other.

Oh playa please! You're lucky you didn't have Steve "Rabbit Ears" Javie, who once called a T on the Trailblazers' radio commentator! You can't possibly top that. The Lakers got caught up in the officiating, and quit wanting to play there in the fourth quarter.

He's definitely too quick when calling Technical fouls.

As a Heat fan, I don't like him. He once said that the refs were taking great delight in watching Pat Riley's team erode.

106. Jackson's a drama queen like the rest of his team
He's bitching about the refs, trying to set up this 'us against the world' b.s. for Tuesday. That's why I'm still not counting the Lakers out. Plus, part of me still feels that karma will punish the Pistons for game #2.

God, I hope not.
