1. There's a futon over on one side of the room

and a bar, of course. with a brass pipe running aling the bottom for a footrest.
There's a chalkboard on the wall, so that people can jot down notes.
Tables with chessboards, backgammon, and dominoes.

9. Very 60s-70s

Some chrome, a lot of orangey, lime green and yellow-gold naugehyde chairs, with fake wood coffee tables, a cooler in one counter, and a TV set up high on the wall like in hospital rooms. On another wall, a bunch of vending machines, a huge stack of papers from around the country and world, magazines--only good ones--and brochures and such on yet another wall in plastic holders. Very retro looking.

10. A recently redecorated basement

Bad faux wood paneling. Two old plaid couches, each littered with uncomfortable throw pillows in various unnatural colors. Old Playboy magazines are stashed under the couch cushions. Lava lamps. Avocado shag carpeting. A black velvet painting of Jesus on one wall; Elvis on another. The stairs creak. The ceiling is water stained.

Complete with beer cans littered across every room... for convenience purposes... Vast amounts of music and plants of uncertain legal status... Lots of entertaining, angry, and/or heartbreaking discussion. And parts, like a fraternity bathroom, that none but the gods dare enter...

17. Okay, I was in a restaurant events room this week....

...it looked out over the Chicago River from downtown. An enclosed terrace (with doors opening onto a riverwalk) that had white-upholstered comfy couches hung with gossamer shades, comfortable chairs, low tables and a very tropical feeling. Totally decadent.

That is the Lounge.
