There is a 67% chance that God exists.
Dr Stephen Unwin has used a 200-year-old formula to calculate the probability of the existence of an omnipotent being. Bayes' Theory is usually used to work out the likelihood of events, such as nuclear power failure, by balancing the various factors that could affect a situation.

1. Okay, now that we've established that probability...
... what's the chance that God talks directly to Bush?

I really want to see that.

4. There is a 100% probability that not all factors were calculated.
Making the conclusion suspect.

6. This author is a major -league loon. (bigtime!)
"The Manchester University graduate, who now works as a risk assessor in Ohio, said the theory starts from the assumption that God has a 50/50 chance of existing, and then factors in the evidence both for and against the notion of a higher being.

Factors that were considered included recognition of goodness, which Dr Unwin said makes the existence of God more likely, countered by things like the existence of natural evil - including earthquakes and cancer."

This guy postulates a certain God with predetermined traits like 'doesn't cause earthquakes' and works from there.

Who ever said God doesn't cause earthquakes? Hasn't every culture that's existed viewed earthquakes as major evidence of God's existence?

I'm an atheist and I have a higher opinion of God than this guy! The God this guy is looking for is the Hallmark card God of Protestants who go to church once a year.

"If there's a God why would he let FRIENDS go off the air?"

8. Well here is my logic:
If I'm not a good Christian, I'm going to hell.
If I'm not a good Jew, I'm going to hell.
If I'm not a good Muslim, I'm going to hell.

Seeing as it is impossible to be all three at once, I guess I am going to hell no matter what. Since I am going to hell no matter what, I will just not waste my time. :P

10. It doesn't matter how valid the formula is
if the input data is bogus.

The theory starts from the a priori guess that there is a 50% chance that god exists, and makes some pretty flaky assumptions from there.

Sounds like he's trying to justify his faith, which only does it disservice.
