1. I've never tried LSD...

...but I've always been curious and tempted to.

My only reservation being that I'm afraid that I'm the type of person who couldn't handle the strong hallucinations associated with it. Perhaps someday...

3. Try a half tab

You'll get that nice acidy feeling with no strong hallucinations. I only tried it a few times (about 10 years ago), and almost always only 1/2 strength. It was fun. I'd also wait until after the elections, it'll make the trip alot better.. and make sure you have a close friend with you who's not going to mess with your head.
