I am about to hit 100 Posts

I know its nothing to all you old timers, but I joined a few months ago, and try to contribute often. Anyway, this post is No. 99.
I'm not going to do anything big for No 100. Probably just respond to something in the lounge. But I thought I should at least take a moment to thank my fellow DUers, the mods and the admins who keep this site going. Its fun, informative and a great way to waste my boss's time and money.

In my first 98 posts, and probably 5000 reads, I noticed a few things about myself. There are some social issues where I fall to the extreme liberal side of the party (abortion), some I'm fairly central on (recent decision on "under God" in the pledge bothered me a little, but didn't get under my skin like some other SCOTUS rulings), and some issues I seem to be on the conservative side of the party (second amendment). Anyway, reading this forum exposes me to positions I never thought of, and would never have time to research on my own. This forum is exactly what free exchange of ideas is all about.

Now I'll get out my box of tissues to wipe away my tears, get off my soapbox and reply to Matcom's post about a bear that wandered into a hospital.

I'm somewhat the same as you are, Progressive, Pro-2nd Amendment, etc. I've been here 3 years and nobody has ever given me a hard time about it.

I'm pretty happy I found DU. A friend referred me here for a link about the second amendment and dems. Most of my liberal friends want to hang me for opposing all but the very strict limitations on the freedom to bear arms. I hope I don't get any shit for my views here. But if I do, I am prepared to defend them.

it's almost as bad as anything about Israel or Ireland. They all lead to tears.
