5. I have NEVER liked James Joyce... |
|
I think I'd rather have Ann Coulter lick honey off my nipples than read another thing by Joyce!

a copy is sitting by my bed as I write. I took it out of the library when I was underage, and couldn't finish it then. And now I am not sure i have the stamina. It is something I am not proud of as an English Lit BA.

I'm off to visit my sister in the Bay Area on Sunday. We always shop 'til we drop at bookstores, Best Buy, etc. I've eyed "Ulysses" for years and have never purchased it; now might be the time because I'm taking the bus to and from work every day and require something to read.

Read it about twenty summers ago with the aid of Stuart Gilbert's excellent guide.
Was thinking about rereading it this summer by way of centenary celebration, but the thought of having Anne Coulter lick honey off my nipples has raised the prospect of an alternative project.
