Touching the Void
I saw this movie yesterday and it was very good. I'm sure many here know what it's about but if you don't here it is. It's about to mountain climbers that want to climb a very steep and high mountain in Peru and what happens to them, it's a true story with the narration done by the 2 guys that it was about. I'm not into moutain climbing but it's a fascinating story and worth renting.

5. It wasn't filmed in IMAX format.
Perhaps you're thinking of "Everest"? Not a bad film, either. But "Touching The Void" gets mountain climbing down, with a realism that the documentary "Everest" didn't, probably because of its format. Mountaineers around the world cried a sigh of relief, knowing that one film, finally, did it right.

3. Great book. Good movie. See it on the big screen, if it's still there.
The footage of the Andes is gorgeous.

4. After seeing the movie "Alive"
I kind of thought people would maybe stay away from the Andes.
