1. Many bosses want a very specific reason for your absence - where |
|
I used to work we couldn't even say we were "sick" we had to spell it out - I have diarrhea, I've been throwing up all night, etc. "Personal" leave had to be planned in advance - then no reason was needed but you had to be within the limit of your personal leave allowance. As far as your unhappiness - I know it sounds like a cliche but be thankful for what you have. Every time you want to bemoan something - make yourself think of a good thing in your life.

3. you should take it up with the boss |
|
tell him it's a family emergency that requires you to be there. These guys love to hear excuses so if you don't throw them some kind of bone they'll be boneheads. If he asks what kind of family emergency tell him your niece had sexual reassignment surgery and her extra three nipples removed and put on her forehead and she just wanted to know if you thought it made her look fat. Really.
Call the Big Boss yourself and tell him that your supervisor told you to call him. Ask the Big Boss to let the supervisor know that you called per his instructions.
