Poll question: Successful threads: How many responses does it take?
At what point do you sit back and say "All right I've got a good one here"? I feel good if one of my threads hits 20, but that's just me...

PS: I didn't give an option for "it doesn't matter" because, well, I have very low self-esteem and I think it does matter, damnit!!!...:-(

1. I think it is in the eye of the beholder
I've seen threads with only a few responses which were powerful and provocative, but for some reason--ignored.

4. Enough to earn one of those little flame icons (hot thread)
I think the threshold is around 30 or so, not that I know from personal experience since I don't think I have ever started a thread that has gone that high. ;-)

6. Quality not quantity!

I remember the most beautiful thread last winter. Someone new to DU posted memories about their father and the first snowfall of the year.

It had the most evocative imagery - a paragraph or two of perfection.

It received 3 responses but I remember that thread like no other.

:hi: :bounce: :hi:
edit: sp (wish I wrote purty) :silly:

7. When I get [View All], I feel like it's a good thread.

That does not happen often, however.

(What does THAT tell you, Richardo?) :eyes:

8. I'm not much of a thread starter
But that's partially because I don't always have the time for it. Though, if my thread is a question, I consider it a success if my question is answered.
