A coffehouse around me is hosting ambient DJs. Should I send a tape?

I've listened to ambient and minimalist music since I was in high school and loved the hell out of it. While I don't exactly have a mindbending collection of ambient recordings, I have enough stuff worth its salt to hold my own in most music snob circles.

As the title states, a coffeehouse I frequent when I'm in the area is getting word out that they're looking for someone to come in and spin soft ambient music, the way Brian Eno dreamed it would be used -- just some background sound while people hang out and enjoy themselves, only there's a guy with headphones behind a sound setup thrown in.

As of right now, they don't have a guy booked for it, and I was considering sending in a mixtape with my phone number on it. Does this sound like a good idea? I'm insecure and need reassurance.
