So.....at what age

Did you realize that that giant rollercoaster wasn't exactly any fun anymore? Or the wild mouse? Or whatever other horrendously retching ride that defied gravity?

I found the last time I did Space Mountain (about 10 years ago, at 38) was not much fun anymore--I was more concerned about whiplash than anything! Even Splash Mountain tested my stomach contents and sense of adventure!

I don't know....is there an age in general where concern for bodily harm is more important than having extreme fun?

1. At about 27, upon my first visit to Magic Mountain, I realized

that spinning around in circles could now make me queasy. Still haven't thrown up as a result of genuine motion sickness, including at sea, but on that day I sure felt like it. Haven't been back yet. Prefer Disneyland, anyway.

I think I was in my 30's when I realized that the rides are just uncomfortable, not fun.

3. I'm not much of an amusement park person...

But... I have to admit, as much as I don't care for crazy rides... I went to Disney World this past spring and went on the Tower of Terror... I screamed like a child in between my laughter. So, I did it again, and again. I'm almost 42.

Rollercoasters... that's another matter. It's that freaking drop into near weightlessness that just about kills me.

5. My ride on Magic Mountain's Collosus was awful

I'm not prone to back or neck problems, and am strong in those areas, but I was shaken to near-death by the thing -- some VERY heavy jolts and drops (talking smacking, tailbone-crushing kind rather than left-stomach-behind kind) and the like, along with whiplash inducement. It's an old-time supercool rollercoaster but it was a rough ride. It's possible that my height or another factor made it worse for me but, if not, I'd hate to think how the many people out there with spinal difficulties would fare on that thing.

4. I think the age is when

you're more worried about possibly having a heart attack before the ride ends instead of worrying if the ride will break. I'm almost 37 and 2 weeks ago i took my girlscout troop to 6 flags for the year end outing and i really had to think twice about going on some of the bigger rides. I did go though after much prodding and mocking by a group of 9 year olds.

6. I Love 'Em

I'm 55. I don't do the ones that spin you around and turn you upside down because I am prone to motion sickness. But I love the others especially wooden coasters I also really enjoy water slides.

I'm too much of an adrenaline junkie. There's no thrill that I won't pursue and get a kick from.

8. I was always afraid of them

I still am. On one level, I'm a complete wimp, yet I also realize I'm okay too.:hi:

9. About two years ago I went on the spinning

circle where the floor drops down. This was my favorite ride as a teen. The adult ride was horrible. I was miserable. Never again. I still love roller coasters but I'm much more careful about some rides.

11. When i lived in massachusetts

i remember that exact ride, it was called the Turkish Twist, went on sligthly hungover, big mistake. I still love roller coasters though, except at Disney were they tilt the track ever so slightly so you don't get that big straight down vertical drop, Spinny things, not good.

and any other ride that terrifies the bezeesus outta me. I always leave the Flume till last because I get sopping wet - then I ride it about 6 times before heading for home. I look like a drenched rat leaving the park. :-)

Both the old, wooden ones and the ones with the overhead rails are my absolute favorites, though I love 'em all... at 41 and counting.

12. when I went to Space Mountain

at around age 10, me and my dad waited on line for over two hours. We finally got on the ride, I was so scared I crouched down in the foot area and wrapped my arms around my dad's ankles.

I've always been a wimp. :)

13. I knew I was in trouble at Cedar Point...

This hellacious coaster Magnum XL200 or something like that. Twists and turns are bad enough, but when they are doing them at 500 feet off the ground (well it seemed that way) it was terrifying. I spent most of that ride bargaining with God to get me off the damn thing and I would never do anything so stupid again. He kept his end of the bargain and so far I have to.

Here are the stats on that bad boy:

First Drop: 205 ft. (I think this was the one when I wet myself)
Second Hill: 157 ft. (by now I was incoherent)
Speed: 72 MPH....!!!!! (time to go check my laundry)
