Computer/HTML Question

I have to write articles for our Union election campaign website. The program we use has to have HTML codes inserted into the Page to show fonts, spacing etc.

Using MS Word and saving in HTML format, then converting to source copy pasting/saving to Notepad then copy/pasting into the site would seem like the easy answer but MS Word puts in too many codes and the program will not accept them.

As I do not know how to write using HTML code there is no way I can figure out just which codes to delete.

I know there are a lot of wizards on this BBS.

Can any of you recommend a simple program (preferably free) that will give me a blank sheet of paper on which to write in plain English, which then converts my writing to HTML which I can then copy/paste into the boxes in our website program?

I do not have time to learn them. I am only trying to write a piece of text.

4. I tried it and it nearly took over my computer

by making new and different copies of my Office documents. I had to find and delete several thousand files. I managed to clean it off without reformatting my hard drive.

I'm looking for something simple to use.

5. Netscape Composer

is the best FREE WYSIWYG editors.
None of them do 'good' HTML, but this one is close.

Never use MS Word.
Never use FrontPage

And viewed in Netscape, everything was white (including text) in IE it was fine.

7. I don't know if this will work or not.

But you can use FrontPage Express to write in, then Save As > File, then open the file and View > Source. It'll show you what the code looks like. You can copy and paste that then. The problem is that FrontPage adds some stuff that is unique to FrontPage only. I don't know if that would be a problem or not; you could try to edit it out I guess.

Edit: I just tried Netscape Composer for the first time, and that does work better...think I will use it myself from now on as well.

8. I really like AceHTML 5.

It's freeware, and it's pretty easy to use, especially if you cut and paste to your site. It also has its own viewer, so you can see what your page looks like.

I also don't know very much about doing this sort of thing, and Ace is the easiest thing I've seen. Google the name and I'm sure you can find it to download.
