3. That's what happens when you stay out of the wall...
and are around to finish the race!
So much for the "new and improved" Ford engine package. The old one works MUCH better ;)

Yea Mikey!!! Another top 10!!!

4. Yeah I like Mikey too.....
He's an eccentric guy, but sincere and IMO a good guy....

I don't know about the Ford engine package.. most of the drivers I follow are Dodge and Chevy.. (that's by chance, not because I don't like Ford..)

It's nice to see Newman win one... he's the type of guy who could blow by anyone and win loads of races, if he didn't have some catastrophe happen all the time, mostly that he has no control over... (it almost happened today, with that piece of paper on his grill)... he's a really good driver but also reall unlucky.. go figure...

I was also pleased to see Rusty get one a few weeks back... hundred and something races since he'd won one.

6. Last week at Pocono
most of the new Ford engines blew up.

Newman is very smart and a good driver. Sometimes he gets a little too agressive and it gets him into trouble. At least he gets along with Rusty a lot better than Mayfield did.

I mostly pull for DEI & Childress. Thank goodness they got rid of Sauter! He was gonna cause a huge mess one of these days.

7. Yeah...
I agree.. whataver the Ford engines did last week... it didn't work....

Obviously they were turning too many RPM's at Pocono... seems like the might've fixed it ralitvely speaking this week.. or maybe they just got lucky... I hear they were turning like 10,000 today going into the corners.. I saw them hitting about 201-202 MPH going into the corner....

I like DEI, but I dunno... I'm not the biggest Dale Jr. fan... but nothing against him either...no love lost, but I'm not that thrilled when he wins.. rather see Mikey get it...

But much respect for Jr's dad of course.. that goes without saying...

8. Jr's learning...
NASCAR is marketing the hell out of him and it's probably rubbed off a little. He's really getting into running Truex's team and it's helping mature him. He still has to learn not to shoot his mouth off so much.

I really pull for the guys who will race anything, anytime, anywhere like Schrader and Stewart. Stewart's another one who has to learn some tact out there. Dale Sr. was great at that. He'd beat the hell out of you all day on the track, and then the next day would call you up and talk about it. Seems none of these younger guys want to do that.

9. I agree with you..
... on everything you've said...

But NASCAR's heavy marketing of Jr. kinda takes away from it a little for me, and when he wins, that taints it a little for me. Like "okay here we go.. another Dale Earnhardt Jr. win." But when he wins he does win on his merits and I respect him for it. Marketing or no marketing.. nobody is going to let him by easy.. (although I suspect that may have happened at the 2002 Pepsi 400)

Truex's team is hot, too.... I am sure we'll see him racing Nextel cup here pretty soon...

Also, on your last point, yeah the young guys (sometimes hotheads) are sort of taking over.. in a way that's a good thing, because of guys like Kasey Khane make the races pretty exciting...but in has it's bad points, some of them still haven't got the spirit of racing down like alot of the older guys... Kurt Busch is a perfect example of that. That's why I'm still glad to see guys like Rusty or one of the Labonte's win.. I would love to see Kenny Schrader get one... doesn't look like it's gonna happen though....

10. Kurt Busch is finding out what happens
when you're an asshole on the track. No one's giving him a break now and he's racking up the DNFs. I hoped Schrader would do better now that he has a sponsor. I'd be real happy to see him get another top 10.

I think Truex will be in cup after next year. Still needs some experience out there.
