So how long will the flag be at half mast
when Hugh Hefner is put to rest? Hopefully a long time for a true American hero. :)

2. LOL!
Can you believe the fucking flags in my town are STILL at half mast a full fucking TWO WEEKS after you-know-who finally kicked the bucket???? Talk about absurd, ridiculous overkill! :puke: :puke: :eyes:

4. all dead presidents get 30 days
As you may well know, no one on DU spits on Reagan's grave like me, but he gets 30 like all the rest. No American gets the honor of 30 days other than dead presidents. No one can exceed it either.

8. Oh, okay, I didn't
know that. Of course, when it's Clinton's turn you just know they'll find all kinds of excuses to make it a lot shorter than 30 days!!!

11. *Not* looking forward to that with GWB..
I don't want to have to be reminded of our worst president ever for a full month, decades (probably) after his reign..

15. lol, yeah a lot of us will be doing similar things..
It will be interesting.. I can't imagine the media will be able to possibly glorify his administration like that have with Reagan's, but who knows? It's too hard to keep up with the absurdity.

Flags are customarily flown at half-staff for thirty days in remembrance of a former President.

12. Agreed!
However, my better half advised me not to "sweat it." The average American is too confused and afraid to notice that the flag is still at half mast. Freaked me out that he considered me an "attention to detail" kinda gal. :P

However, if my memory serves, I was under the impression that when someone USA notable dies, we only fly the flag half mast for a week or so?

I'm at a complete loss. Somebody should tell the Fundy's that Reagan will not live again. Perhaps FOX will take this opportunity to begin their final segment "Count Down to Armageddon? Yikes! Oh those silly right wing, religious, pseudo-patriotic nut cases. :P
