I thought the point was to make the course as hard as possible. The fact that Retief was -4 for the tournament gives plenty of evidence that it was difficult, but not impossible.

Also, the fact that many of these guys get an insane amount of money to play doesn't build my sympathy either. They are pros, they are supposed to be the best, thrive under adversity and all that. Course plays tough? Too bad.

I will concede that Sun's greenkeeping was suspect. The director said that they did what the could to make it fair. Did they fail, maybe. But the fact that a few folks finished under par says they didn't totally fail.
