Sexy = a great combination of looks, personality, and intangibles, with some style, class, mannerisms, and grace thrown in. The ones who are sexy would be my crushes. The prettiest ones aren't always crushes. For example, I think that Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Charlize Theron, and Anna Kournikova are all very pretty (though not at the very top IMO,) but not as sexy as a Katie Holmes. Katie is attractively cute and therefore also extremely pretty IMO.

It helps if they are Democrats. I don't know if Katie Holmes is one. I know she participated in Christmas in Washington during Dubya's years, but that doesn't mean anything. I was more worried about Reese Witherspoon when I read that she keeps her politics to herself, but she is good friends with Susan Sarandon, and her movies suggest a liberal streak. If I don't know if a celeb is a Democrat or Repuke, I count her as just as sexy as I would if I knew she is a Democrat. But a celeb's place on my sexy/crush list is solidified if I know she is a Democrat.

it's mostly about personality, intelligence, and the intangibles. Sexy doesn't mean beautiful, or even conventionally good-looking, and in fact good looks aren't a necessity for sexiness...(the French term for this is jolie-laide, or "pretty-ugly")...

I'm convinced that no one knows what "sexy" is. Anyone who talks about "sexy," tries to describe it, does articles about it for "Parade" or "People" or "Cosmopolitan," is whistling in the dark. In fact, I'm beginning to doubt that "sexy" has any basis in reality, just like those stories we hear about happy marriages. Pure fiction.

I think Michelle is awesome. I like most of her music; not particularly surprising since I like all types of music, though the bulk of what I listen to is late-sixties/early-seventies psychedelic/prog-rock and mid-nineties "alternative." She also seems like a genuinely fun, down-to-earth person, and she's also quite pretty and very hot. I commend you on your taste!

10. Society and I don't agree on the definition

My perception is society sees sexiness as purely superficial --AND associated with beauty -- like inflated breasts (with silicone) blonde, waif thin, blue eyes, intelligence optional. For men, tall, tan, buff and wavy dark hair. I never bought into it...I find the internal intangibles -- intelligence, respect, compassion and a sense of humor as sexy, looks are optional.

12. let me relate the tale of the sexiest thing I've ever seen

I was at work in my office, when my company had an actual office for we employees, and occasionally I would take a break and head outside into the parking lot for a soda or coffee and to catch a little fresh air.

The parking lot was big and served about 12 storefronts in a combination strip mall and office park.

I watch as a guy is just standing there beside his car, with the hood up. No big deal, I've seen hundreds of broken down cars in this lot, but it's better than watching the seagulls.

In comes a huge flatbed tow truck, swerves into position then backs up to the rear of this broken car.

Out of the truck climbs this 5' tall, young, brown haired, grease covered, doll of a female tow truck driver. Better still, she poked around in the engine compartment of the guy's car for a while to diagnose what was wrong. Couldn't or didn't have the tools to fix it. Then as deftly as any tow truck driver I'd ever see, even moreso, perhaps, she grabbed the winch wire, scrambled under his car, pulled the car up onto the flat bed and drove away.

Was it her smile, the grease on her face and gloves and work boots, her competence with the truck and car, her confidence in dealing with a broken car and very large tow truck, or the surprise of seeing such a petit girl so competently doing a male oriented job?

I don't know, but MAN did that drive me mental for a couple of days.

It seems like everyone has a different definition, because even Salma Hayek got one negative comment tonight. But I think my crush list can go up against any here, and I have gotten compliments on it.
