The numbers show Canada is a nation of big, fat liars
Edited on Tue Jun-22-04 05:21 PM by Hoping4Change
Canada might be a much fatter and fib-prone nation than anyone ever realized.

New research suggests that more than two-thirds of Canadians are overweight, not less than half, as commonly reported.

The huge discrepancy is due to the fact that virtually all statistics collected are based on self-reported data...

In virtually every age group, of men as well as women, actual calculations of overweight were 10 to 20 points higher than in the self-reported data. Which leads to one obvious scientific conclusion: Liar, liar, your fat pants are on fire."

6. Oh, I did. At Philadelphia's International Airport.
I was waiting for a connecting flight back to Chicago. I had a couple of hours to kill and I was hungry. I went to one of the airport restaurants and it was on the menu. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich is delicious, but I wouldn't want to eat a steady diet of them. :-)

14. They're not fat! Those are kilograms! KILOGRAMS!!!!
And they're not lying when they say gas costs 90 cents a gallon. Those are Canadian cents, and Canadian gallons, so there's a conversion factor of some sort.

Actually, it's not the entire Maritimes, anyway--just New Brunswick. As is well known, they're all swine in that province!

Although... if you subtract Ralph Klein from the equation, all of Canada becomes svelte and fit.

As to BC... , ya bony bastards!

22. well, that explains this little incident!
(politicians accused of trying to bribe voters with doughnuts -- only in Canada!)

Rivals throw low blows in Vancouver
*from The Globe and Mail

By ROD MICKLEBURGH
Tuesday, June 22, 2004 - Page A7

"VANCOUVER -- It has some of the toughest turf in Canada, and the verbal brass knuckles came out early.

Now, with a week to go before the election, the bruising battle to represent the voters of Vancouver East has become one of the nastiest in the country.

There have been personal accusations, apologies, retractions of apologies and fireworks at all-candidates meetings.

On Saturday, there was yet another mini-dustup, this time over doughnuts.

Elections Canada officials, acting on a complaint from the NDP, admonished Liberal campaigners for handing out free doughnuts near an advance polling station in the Downtown Eastside."

Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 11:20 PM by Hand
Those suckers are complete artery bombs. Allegedly one Tim's doughnut contains as much fat as a Big Mac! The voters will be keeling over before they can get to the polls!

The advent of Krispy Kreme in Canada will probably lead to such spectacular obesity that North America will tilt upwards from the top, and all the Mexicans will tumble willy nilly across the border...

:silly:
