cheap, simple webhosting?

i'm not looking for much. all i want out of a webhost is space, bandwidth and a photo gallery program (or ability to stick one in). all i plan to use it for is embedding my blogs, practising my HTML/CSS and uploading/remote-linking pictures and graphics. no email boxes, no fancy databasing...none-a-that. and cheap. like under $10 a month cheap.

so far i've found http://www.lunarpages.com/plan1.htm">this plan, but it's still a bit too bells-and-whistles for me. any suggestions? i already have a domain, i just need hosting.

They offer some bells and whistles - database, PHP, mySQL, but they're under $8 a month, have 99.7% uptime, and give you a crapload of space. So later on if you do decide you want the databasing, you've got it, but in any case you've got a good webhost.

I'm not associated with them in any way except I have some personal accounts there, and I recommend all the clients that I do freelance database/web work for to put their site on powweb.

If you go with them, tell them that cfpersonals.com or amazingchris.com recommended you so that I can get some referral credits. :)

They are a free UNIX shell site. $36 one time fee gets you 300 meg of disk (split evenly between mail, web, and data). More money gets you things like MySQL access, quota management, etc. It's well run and has a good connection.

I use it for my personal email and photo galleries. It works great.

Yep, it's the same team that does the Java applets.

I've got a friend that uses it and for $ 1.49 per month ...it's hard to beat!
