What a stupid song. I'd like to say that humanity has evolved since then, but we haven't. Ouch.

Songs that are about a dance that never existed until the song appeared make me quiver with the creeps, and shudder internally as though my psyche had been sucked into a whirling doom-filled vortex of a mood ring-created black hole.

I was nine when Little Eva's Locomotion was released, and I thought it was pretty good. You have to remember that many songs were written around dances, and this was no exception.

the Grand Funk Railroad version you can punt off, by the way...I just happen to like the whole early-mid 60s "girl group" genre...even sappier songs like "It's My Party" by Leslie Gore...

And I'd say we've evolved a little...has anybody covered or have you heard on the radio lately "He Hit Me (But it Felt Like a Kiss)" by the Crystals?
