Poll question: Am I mentally ill?
I'm going to avoid the news and real life for now on.

Just surprise me when it does end.

I'm sick of getting advance notice of things as if it was being given out compassionately. Especially when the climate is so discompassionate. May as well saw off my testicles and tell me it's okay to make babies.

I know my job will be soon out the door, and they continue to make no surprise of it, making me feel that much more distressed. There's little out there. What is out there pays laughable wages for ridiculous credentials. (Good grief, I've recently proven myself to be more formidable than the others I work with and yet I'm closer to the chop than any of them... doesn't talent count for ANYTHING?!)

I know my employer is the antithesis of compassion for people with illnesses, too many people have said what they do.

I know the world's turned to shit thanks to *. I don't want to hear any more. I'm sick of that human filth* and there's nothing we can do about it anyway.

Fuck it, I won't even mention peak oil. In 2-15 years society as we know it will be over anyway, with a massive depression followed by something more horrific - even if it doesn't end with war. I think those in control know this too...

There is no point anymore.

Just let me live in my private little universe until I'm forced out of it.

1. Don't you feel as if compassion is a curse sometimes?
I do...but I'm trying to stay positive as of late. Remember, there are plenty of things these fucks can't take away from us.

12. I'm fucking scared all the fucking time lately...
there is so much can come down crashing in a moments notice. Bank notices, GM unhealthies, King Gorge with his delirium tremins thumb on the red button, mad fucking cows that I've been eating for too long, but what scares me most is I have a child that's fearless. Pleasse, if it was only me..... I can take it.

In other words, "You're okay but not okay"?

Great, now I'm a confused manic depressive drama queen...

10. You're OK, Just Sad
And there are drugs for that! ;)

Really, sometimes I get depressed thinking about the Repugs shaping our civil rights for years to come, or peak oil and World War III.
But I can't do anything about it. With at least 30 years to retirement, I still save 15% of my income to my 401(k). So I guess that means I have hope. I don't really worry about dying, other than pain and leaving the ones I love. If there is some sort of major global catastrophe, leaving the ones I love won't really be an issue. When I think about major genocidal disasters, I find myself shrugging and hoping to be at Ground Zero or Patient Zero. Until then, I'm going to try and enjoy myself as much as possible while still being responsible.

And believe me, I'm an obsessive worrier.

13. fuck the drugs.... since when do you need those....
to feel human? It's the world turning to shit that has some of us worried a bit more than others. No Pill is gonna solve that, but it will solve a yacht accquistion or two for the pharmaKings.

5. Not there. Not yet.
Just depressed.

It's always darkest before the dawn (or the storm).

The future is a code I am unable to decipher... I can still see rope to cling on to. There is a chance...

8. Best thing about the future is that it hasn't happened yet.
Man, if have the crap forecasted on DU in the last few months actually happened, we'd be in a sorry state. You can't always fret about the future..it'll make you batty.
p.s. as an axiety sufferer myself, I wish I followed my own advice sometimes.

6. Not one fucking bit.
You're simply feeling the effects of what Amerika has become, it sucks the joy out off all who contemplate cooperation over competition, exploitation over empathy.

Don't worry, take a break, and come back swinging.

7. Not "crazy" mentally ill....
in fact your reaction to what is going on in the world seems very sane to me. I feel hopeless from time to time, as do many of us.

However, I think you may be severly depressed - with good reason - and might want to seek out help. Things suck, but depression often makes one feel overwhelmed and filled with despair.

I think there is some hope still, the facade is crumbling and will soon come crashing down around this fascist administration. Take a little break for a while and see if your state of mind improves. Hope you feel better soon! :)

9. If you have to ask...
you're not.

Most aren't, but nevertheless become convinced by someone or something.

11. You sound normal enough...
However if you ever get the urge to vote for bush, voluntarily commit yourself to the nearest insane asylum. :9

That said, I am not a psychiatrist nor do I play one on TV.

14. Take care of yourself, HypnoToad.
Give yourself a break if you need to. What works for you when you feel like this, anyway? Personally, I hibernate.
