CASSELBERRY, Fla. -- An Casselberry woman is charged with torching her own home while her kids were inside.
Officials say no one was hurt in Wednesday's arson fire. They say the two children ran from the burning house, while one called 9-1-1 to say his mother had set the place ablaze.
Seminole County investigators say suspect Santina Facchini Ammaturo has a history of mental illness. She's being held without bond and is accused of arson to an occupied structure and two counts of aggravated child abuse.
Ammaturo's 11-year-old son says his mother spread gasoline in the house and then lit it on fire. The family says she has a history of mental-health problems and was not taking her medication. They also say she was having marital difficulties and suffering from depression.
