Why does my browser keep shutting down?
I've had to restart DU about 20 times today. Do you suppose someone up here at work is monkeying with it? Grrr.

5. That's what I'm thinking
Our IT guy says, "I like you. You're my friend. But you've got one big problem. You're a f*cking Democrat." It wouldn't surprise me if he was messin' with it.

4. You tried scanning for viruses, trojans and spyware?
I had a weird one not long ago. It would randomly click my mouse. I'd type in a long entry, and just near the end, my back button would randomly click and I'd loose everything.

It was some type of trojan, I think. I ran a couple of programs, deleted some spyware and searchware, and it was fixed.

7. Good thought!
I'll run spybot and see what happens. Thanks - I didn't even think about that. I just figured I was being targeted. :tinfoilhat:

9. Run a few of them
Spybot missed whatever was gumming mine up. These things grow so quickly that no one program can keep up with all of them. I did a free McAfee scan, then ran Spybot and AdAware, then found some demo program on Tucows that finally fixed it.

10. My kids ...
Who REFUSE to enhance their browsing experience with Firewalls and virus protection, now are reaping the whirlwind of that refusal ...

Their puters are SERIOUSLY bogged down with various spyware, adware, and viruses ...

I tried to clean them out: but some are so deeply embedded: we are forced to reboot the systems on each of them ...

ONE of the symptoms ??? .... The browsers wont stay alive ...

They open up: ... read half a page, then DUMP out ...

You need to be cleansed ....

12. I installed it a few weeks ago
So far it has been great. I didn't want to change, but I was left with no choice. Maybe you had other problems on your system.

13. Nah, it's IE
That's bad enough. It's my work computer and we're inundated with firewalls and weekly virus updates. I'll run spybot and see what kind of spyware has infested me.

15. oooh oooh mine too!!!
IE was going super slow this morning and I kept having to refresh every page...tried to write to you WHIZZES at DU about my problem and couldn't get it to load. Gave up and called my server company and we deleted some stuff and it seems to be working a little better, I think its still slow, but I could be paranoid (have a really slow dial up anyway on top of other problems) also ran ad aware and scanned for viruses. This after reading a bunch of posts yesterday about using other browsers and I was thinking oh, Internet Explorer works pretty good for me ..... grrrrr
