Today is my 5th Anniversary - Cancer-Free!

What did you have if I may ask? I'm going on my 3rd year of kicking leukemia's sorry ass!

I love it...as of 5 years you are, if I am not mistaken according to the Cancer folks, CURED!!!!!!

6. I had Stage 1, medium grade lymphoma

Lump on my shoulder - which is sorta unusual, as most lymph nodes are collected at the junctions - armpits, neck, groin. But after several rounds of chemo (prednisone - ugh!), and radiation, no sign of anything since. No liver damage, either. I'm very lucky, as lymphoma is pretty nasty.

My doc at Kaiser is very good. I've been pleased with my treatment there.

7. I know lymphoma can be harsh....

met someone in the hospital whon had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma...sadly, he didn't win his battle. He was an inspiration though and we met because we both had the same last name so we would mess with the nurses about our meds..saying he was supposed to get whatever, I was supposed to get whatever.
The nurses, awesome as always, got a kick out of our shenanigans.

He would buy the nurses pizza, save up his food vouchers and then when one of his treatments were over and he was about to be discharged, he'd by all the staff on our floor ice cream bars...not the cheapo ones, the good Dove bars!
