My older computer frequently goes into "sleep" mode and I can get it to wake up without re-booting. There has to be a way to keep it from going to sleep.

It's a complete piece of shit.
I need to upgrade to Windows XP, as soon as I scrape together the money for the upgrade software.

You can right click on your desktop, click on "properties" click on "screen saver" and where you see the tab in the energy saving part, click on "settings". There you will see the settings for sleep mode and stuff. Set them all to never and see if that does it.

Click Start. Under 'Settings' click 'Control Panel'. Open "Power Options" under Control Panel. There you'll find the grail. :)

ACPI should be enabled, but the hardware too has a standby setting. I always disable it...
