Okay.....dead post..but anybody into "Boy George"retrospectives?

1. He was quite innovative in his time.

I'm still a big fan. The whole English blue eyed soul movement in the mid 80's was a great one

4. I've been playing his "greatist hits" album all weekend. "Church of the

Poisoined Mind" is one I play over and over. Even though it seems he wrote most of his songs about his "lover" in the band and folks don't see beyond the sexual relationship or romantic things about his songs...I've always seen more to his lyrics that apply to human nature.

Poisened Mind (am I spelling that correctly?) is sort of a must for our times. I find I'm playing Culture Club and Hall & Oats newest with "Getaway Car" the most lately. I can't get enough of it. Something says "Boy George" and the song "Getaway Car" are what I need to hear right now.

But..I think Boy George's music was under-rated...and was hoping for folks who know "pop" music better than I for critique.

But who the hell cares about "critique" when you listen to an album over and over at a time in your life when the person isn't even popular means it's speaking something for your brain that it needs...so what the hell! Right? :D

Another couple of great meat-free cookbooks are The Self-Healing Cookbook by Kristina Turner, and The Book of Whole Foods, by Annemarie Colbin (both can be found on Amazon).

It's a beautful poem to love lost...and it's one of the most romatically cruel sad songs I've ever heard..

It's written about Gay Relationships but as a heterosexual I've found his songs go deep and I relate it to other things...which means he was a Poet who could Reach Out!

8. The "screaming harmonica" which goes back to my Southern roots

kind of gets me...Used extensively in all his songs. With great background and a very "individual sound" I think...but I'm not as savy as most DU'ers about harmonics and the new uses electronically.

Still..he used synthesized sound with traditional instruments...I think..in a weird "New" sound? Combination didn't last and wasn't something that changed music but it was an innovation that no one else did before or since?
