That's it! I'm not buying another pack!
I just finished my last smoke from my last pack. I quit but I've been on a two month relapse. Fuck those damn things!
I have NO idea why I had that one smoke that night....that one smoke corrupts your whole effort.

2. Dude, they are Lay's potato chips...No one can smoke just one.
I have convinced myself that if I EVER pick up that first cigarette again, that is the end.

3. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
I quit smoking for the third time 13 months ago (this is the longest that I've been smoke free) and one of the things that has kept me from starting again is remembering how hard it is to quit.

4. I hear ya HEyHEY
I've been trying to quit or at least slow down and for a few days I was really good but now I'm back to buying packs again.

It's very hard to quit. I feel your pain. I wish I had some more suggestions to offer you. Maybe someone out there can help us out.

Any tips on how you DUers stopped for good?

10. A study they did at MD Anderson Cancer Center
I thought it was interesting and I know that some people had good results. Their basic premise was that part of the problem with quitting smoking was that you have change your smoking behavior and deal with the nicotine addiction at the same time. They developed a plan where you change your smoking behavior first, and then deal with your addiction to the nicotive. Here's an article about the study, "Smoking Cessation Study Goes High Tech":

Players Extra Light Regular

I've already bought the nicorette gum, I was presented with a box of candy, gum and stress relief items by a woman (one that I think is going to matter), along with a very broad hint that I needed to stop, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

If you'll do it, I'll do it.

whattdya say?

9. Good Luck HEyHEY
I quit the damn things in February after a bout with pnuemonia. I still miss em though, they are an insidious addiction. Hope I can stay away from em too.

11. cinnamon sticks
helped me. i used the patch but fucked up a beautiful year and a half quit with the *i'll just have one* scenario, too.

but the cinnamon sticks really help me for those first few weeks, they take care of the oral and the manual fixation and the aroma seemed to ease the cravings, but that mighta been wishful thinking...

good luck.
