http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=kuchikomi&id=306 Readers upset as Shukan Post says no more nude pix
Since the restrictions against photos displaying female models' pubic hair were dropped in the early 1990s, many of Japan's male-oriented weekly magazines have titillated their mostly male readership with eight to 10 pages of glossy color photos per issue. So it came as something of a shock to the publishing world when Takaaki Ebihara, the editor-in-chief of Shukan Post, announced that his magazine would no longer run such photographs.
According to Ebihara, dropping of the pictures had been subject to ongoing debate for quite some time. To find out how the Post's readers feel about the move, Shukan Bunshun (July 1) assembled 400 readers of the rival magazine (320 men, 80 women) and asked if they agreed with or opposed the banning of "hair nude" photos, as they called in Japanese. The response: 242, or about 60%, were opposed.
Among those voicing opposition to halting the nudie shots, 66% were males; but perhaps somewhat surprisingly, 38% of the female respondents also said they had no problem with the nudes and "wanted to see more of them."

Whatever. I got more nude J birds at my house than I know what to do with.
Measurements?

Congratulations, Kimigayo. But "real body measurements"? Just eat at Makudonarudo and become "Super Size Me." Your bust size will increase along with, but lagging, the rest of you. What's a mother to do, competing with silicone?

no one ever asks the questions about why there are nude pictures in a "regular" magazine to begin with? If you want to see nude pictures of women, why not buy a magazine geared for that? Do we want our underage children to be able to see the steamy schoolgirl pictures from these "variety" magazines that are so frequently left lying around in coffee shops, ramen shops, and on trains? Adult material belongs in an adult magazine and should be regulated by age who can buy it. I'm all for sex education of our youngsters, if taught appropriately. Also, I enjoy looking at nude pictures if they're tasteful, but in the privacy of my own home. The last thing I want to see is some ojisan with a boner ogling a nude picture of some 18 (maybe?) year old girl on the train or in a restaurant.
Good call for the management of the magazine!

there goes the neighborhood. sigh.
it would be fair if the porn industry would remove those nagging pixels over the nasty bits, but i don't see that happening soon enough.and they say japan's raunchy! this is disgraceful behavior in a country where prostitution--in many forms--is basically legal.

everyone loves porn and nude pictures. in fact japanese often speak just the opposite of what they think. there is no need to act so superficial and fake.
