I get the urge to contribute things to some threads that aren't public knowledge. Sometimes I think that I have shared too much personal info about myself. What are some things that DUers should be very careful not to share? My thoughts: Too much inside information about your company. I feel like I've probably stepped over the line a couple times which is one reason that I have never named my company. You probably should be careful about revealing anything that is not public knowledge if you name your comapany. You probably shouldn't reveal things like earnings, costs, or profit margins, or... Any illegal activities that you may be aware of or were aware of that the police are not aware of. This does not include minor drug use, traffic violations, or other small crimes that would not be investigated. Anything that is not public knowledge that would damage someone's reputation. For example, it may be tempting to post that your uncle snorted cocaine with Bush in college. What if your uncle snorted cocaine with John Kerry though? For that reason, I think it is best to avoid negative insider personal information about public figure. Saying things like, "I was a food server at the RNC and (the names of several Republicans) were real jerks." is probably acceptable though. Any other suggestions?
