I'm in the Howard Stern newsgroup with Outlook Express and the text is all garbled in all the messages. What is the deal, how can I get the messages to read?

1. Stop using outlook express for anything whatsoever

and get yourself a good newsgroup reader. I use newsrover, which has boatload of built in functionality, like autosearching for all the parts of a file, it automatically decodes many formats, etc., and of course it does threading and whatever else you'd expect.

Been using it since 1997, and have never been disappointed.

3. Are you trying to download binary attachments?

4. Agent's also good

That's what I used before I found newsrover which I liked better. But, of course, I haven't tried Agent since '97 so I'm sure it's way better than it was (though power-wise it was the same as Newsrover, the interface of NR was more intuitive to me).
