1. Jesus, I wish we'd quit bellyaching about this!
Go to Europe some time and try to fill up your tank! There's a reason they drive diesels over there! When I lived there a couple of years ago, gas was around $4/gallon!

2. Yeah, but don't they have public transport THAT WORKS?
Lesser demand = higher price, or something silly to that effect... :shrug:

3. $4/gal is about what it should be.
Don't forget we subsidize the oil industry, we subsidise the auto industry, and we give rebates back to people who buy $60k SUVs.
