Poll question: In which year under Bush did jobless DUers lose jobs?

I lost mine in March 2002 and was wondering when my fellow jobless DUers lost yours. I stopped looking, decided to be a stay-at-home mom for awhile. (It's not like I had a choice, no one is hiring full-timers around here, much less part-timers.)

I could only make a token ($5) to DU because of not working. But I did want the DU numbers to be high :)

2. 2000 & 2003

I was laid off 3 days after the election that Bush eventually stole. I secured another job a day or two before Gore conceded.

And now I'm expecting to be laid off either today or tomorrow, next Monday at the outside. All the signs are there, and I've been given an unofficial, quiet word-to-the-wise to prepare. So I voted in the 2003 area, but I did want to mention that I associate Bush with the first layoff too.

Just found a new job a couple of weeks ago, begin work on Sept 8.

4. Laid off this time last year ... still looking

x( Though it's getting harder to stay motivated. I have been kinda depressed lately about it.

I'm 40 after all. I thought I'd be in the right career path for me by now and enjoying the fruits of that. But here I am. *sigh*

7. Laid off Oct 2001

Found another full time job with bennies in July 2003. Salary cut of
$13000.

8. Well, actually, I lost my last job in May 2001 -

but I lost my previous job prior to that in May 1991, under president Whistle Ass the First. :mad:

I was fortunate enough to find gainful employment after only 6 weeks.

This mouth-breathin', booger eatin, goober that is squattin' in the WH has got to go. Kerry, Dean, Edwards, Graham, Mosely-Braun, Sharpton, Kucinich, Gephardt - I don't care. Sure, I have my preferences, but I would be happy to see any one of them be elected.

Lieberman was omitted on purpose. I would vote for him before I would vote for Whistle-Ass, but hold my nose the entire time...

9. 2001

again in 2002 (after less than six weeks), and then again in February of 2003 after ten months.

Since then, a consulting business has dried up because my two main clients went under and my own business is flatline due to the economy.

I now work three jobs for a total income that is a third of what I made prior to September 2001.

10. Mr. Tikki was forced to retire in July...yes forced, because...

...of the new accounting formula for retirement plans at a Large Aerospace Company he worked for...for 30 years. The new retirement would have 'punished' his retirement check in the future because of the 'Bush* unstable economy'. We knew it would be better to go with the final 'figures' that are known, then some hypothetical...'will 'maybe' your retirement will grow or decline...let's see what happens.'

We were sooo lucky that he reached his 'maximum points for retirement' on the day before the new retirement formula took affect. He was out of there..Just in time.

But, because he is still in his mid-fifties... we assume he will be working somewhere, again, probably sooner than later.

11. Let's see - office blowed up in Sept. 2001, job lost in Nov. 2002

unemployment denied in March 2003.

And investments tanked starting right about January 2001.

I'd say, overall, that whistle-ass is batting .000

seriously folks...there is NO excuse for being unemployed 2 years...Even if you can't find your dream career, work is available...take it!
