Who do you pick for the Prez? Take a quiz.
http://selectsmart.com/president/

I took it just now and although I am leaning towards Dean the candidate I selected in the quiz was Kucinich at 100%.

Try it out.

34. I am thats just me
He does more than that Ive listened to him speak, and plus I admire him for coming back after what happened in 1977. He doesnt give up and he shows a lot of respect for his upbringing. He doesnt forget it too.

is the most Democratic of the candidates. Now to see how many Democrats there are in the Democratic Party or how many Republican-lites (who are even less progressive than Theodore Roosevelt).

Go see Granny D's article at commondreams.org

You see I am a big economic liberal and the governor with respect isnt so. I am a big social liberal too. Well that two percent + we disagree on I think is the chances for DK, but keep in mind Dean was once in the shadows too, dark horses can and will win,

25. well there's a huge
gap between Graham (70%) and Bush (24%), compared to Kucinich (99%) and Graham (70%) so I don't think the selector is necisarily flawed... just a lack of third party candidates.

28. I suspect most people here agree with Kucinich on a lot of issues
This is an idealogical/policy test that doesn't take into account impressions of electability. If DK appeared more electable, he would have more supporters. Of course, if he had more supporters he'd be more electable.

Here's my results:

1. Green Party Candidate (100%)
2. Kucinich, Cong. Dennis, OH - Democrat (84%)
3. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (84%)
4. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol IL - Democrat (82%)
5. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (72%)
6. Leahy, Patrick Senator, Vermont - Democrat (71%)
7. Socialist Candidate (71%)
8. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (69%)
9. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (69%)
10. Gephardt, Cong. Dick, MO - Democrat (68%)

11. Feingold, Senator Russ, WI - Democrat (64%)
12. Daschle, Senate Minority Leader Tom, SD - Democrat (63%)
13. Clinton, Senator Hillary Rodham, NY - Democrat (60%)
14. Jackson, Cong. Jesse Jr., IL - Democrat (57%)
15. Lieberman Senator Joe CT - Democrat (55%)
16. Graham, Senator Bob, FL - Democrat (53%)
17. Biden, Senator Joe, DE - Democrat (52%)
18. Kaptur, Cong. Marcy, OH - Democrat (50%)
19. Feinstein, Senator Dianne, CA - Democrat (50%)
20. Clark, Retired Army General Wesley K "Wes" Arkansas - Democrat (49%)
21. Gore, Former Vice-President Al - Democrat (45%)
22. Libertarian Candidate (43%)
23. Dodd, Senator Chris, CT - Democrat (42%)
24. Bayh, Senator Evan, IN - Democrat (38%)
25. Bradley, Former Senator Bill NJ - Democrat (32%)
26. Hart, Former Senator Gary, CO - Democrat (13%)
27. McCain, Senator John, AZ- Republican (12%)
28. Hagelin, John - Natural Law (11%)
29. Bush, George W. - US President (8%)
30. Phillips, Howard - Constitution (3%)
31. Buchanan, Patrick J. – Reform/Republican (0%)
32. LaRouche, Lyndon H. Jr. - Democrat (0%)
33. Vilsack, Governor. Tom IA - Democrat (0%)

Another missing factor is trust. For example, I may appear to agree with W more than Buchanan but I would trust Buchanan more. Bottom line is I trust Gephardt more than other candidates except for Kucinich, who I consider to be unelectable.

36. How'd you manage to post ALL your results in such a small space?
I agree with you about Buchanan, BTW. When he was running for president, I thought he was the devil incarnate. I have listened to him, recently, however, and find little to disagree with.

The same goes for Sharpton. I previously dismissed him as a nutcase. Now that I am really listening to what he has to say, I applaud the man for telling it like it is.:D

So you like Gephardt? I could easily get behind Gephardt as I feel that he has the name recognition, leadership experience and appeal to Middle America that win him the nomination and, hopefully, the election. That needs to be our number one priority.:grr:

I prefer Dennis Kucinich and agreed with him on this test at 100%. You seem to like him, as well. What would you say to a Gephardt/Kucinich ticket? Do you think that could be a winner?:-)

It's a definite help in choosing a candidate.:-)

I also have Kucinich 100%. I have the Green Party candidate at number two and John Kerry as number three. Most of the current slate of Democratic candidates are in my top ten (even Lieberman). The bottom line with me is that I will vote for any Democratic candidate over George Bush*.:grr:

33. When I first took it, you could choose whether or not you wanted
undeclared candidates to be considered in your results. I included everyone and got, for example, Hillary Clinton, fairly high up on my list. I guess they have changed that:shrug:

I sent it to my friend, who is amused by my vehemence, and he asked if this chose only the Democratic candidate that you agree with. I told him that all candidates are represented. His choice turned out to be Gephardt, which suprised him. He considers himself to me middle-of-the-road, though he is still a registered Republican.:-(

I am sorry that Bush* showed up so high on your list, but I think it's important to have both parties included. I am pretty sure that my friend is going to vote Democrat this time, because he has found that he more closely agrees with them. That can only be a good thing.:-)
