wow, gas prices are gonna kick my ass this weekend, but I don't mind
for every dollar I spend at the pump, an SUV owner will spend 2

Besides, it's about time the U.S. learned to cut down on fuel consumption and be more efficient.

I don't expect to see many trucks or SUVs trying to stoplight race me in the next few weeks, suckers!

2. For all those who think my motorcycle is insane....
all I can say is I can drive at 85mph all day and still get better than 45mpg.

If I drive like a mortal, I can hit 60mpg or so.

Neener Neener.

5. Same here.
I get about 50 mpg. My ride to school is 10 minutes long in 7am traffic at an average of 25 mph. And I drive my truck on days with potential bad weather.

So, I join-in with the neener neener neener chant:)

3. it costs me over $20 now to fill up my tank
and I drive a Honda Accord. This is getting unbelievable. It's NEVER cost me over $20 to fill up before.

4. yeah, i used to count my gas shopping my gallons, now it's by dollars
and I have to pay premium because I have a turbo engine which won't take lightly to crappy gas, so it's ~to infinity and beyond!~ for me!

But like I said, I relish in thinking about all those suckers around here that drive their H2s and Navigators, legitimate business reasons exempt.

6. Snicker
I overheard somebody at the gas station going off about how it costs her SOOO MUUUCH to fill up her SUV (super big one, and of course no other passengers).

Meanwhile, filled up my car, good to go for another tank of 30 mpg...

7. in germany the price for a gallone 4.25€ = 4.60 US-$
based on € to $ 1.08
based on 1000ml = 1.12 €
for gas called "super" = 95 octane.
it's not possible to own SUV ;)

11. it is :)
some people here think, the whole war against iraq was about the iraqi plans to balance the cash (? not sure of the vocabulary) of oil business in € and if the us didn't control this balancing, the deficit could cause a crash.
but I don't know, I'am not a economist. for me, prices like 2$ a gallone sounds like a good reason.

9. Exactly, my friend!
Here in the U.S., we complain about gas prices, and even start wars to keep them down, but in the rest of the world, the equivalent of $2 per gallon is Cheap!

2$ a gallone, i know a lot if people who would kill for such prices... *oops*
but after THIS summer in Europe, perhaps some people start thinking different about CO² and the Kyoto-protocol.

13. Yes! There's a reason why
a Lotus sports car with a ~mere~ 180 hp can out-accelerate a given 300 hp "muscle-car", the Lotus is light. If it can't out-accelerate it, then it will surely beat the American car in the turns.

12. Unfortunately, my SUV owning parents can afford it, while I will struggle
to finance the minivan's tank. Lots of SUV owners don't even give a crap about the price of gas. If they can afford $50,000 for a stupid car, they don't quibble about filling the tank. My mom never says a work when she comes a visting in her personal tank.
