And pawns are the only piece that can capture an opponents piece without occupying it's space. In en passant, if an opponents pawn avoids a conflict with another pawn by moving two spaces on it's first move, the opponent can occupy the space behind that pawn and capture it.

But I'm not an expert by any means. I'd just love to play other DUers for the hell of it. I think the idea sounds so very very cool. Iknow there's some instant programs out there...shareware even...where we can play each other in real time.
