Robert Randolph & The Family Band
Holy SHIT! :wow:

Why haven't I heard of these guys before?!?

Robert is #97 on that Rolling Stone guitarist list - on the pedal steel guitar. Yes, he's that good.

I've got the CD The Word, a collection of gospel standards by Rob't Randolph, John Medeski, and the No. Mississippi All Stars. I highly recommend it. I haven't really heard any of his stuff with the Family band, though.

the Campbell Brothers. Steel-guitar based gospel music - not quite as...raucous...as Robert Randolph, but to my ear extremely uplifting...I saw them live earlier this year - they had an entire church full of stodgy, mostly middle-aged Canadians dancing in the aisles.... :-)
