my son starts on Tuesday. i am more apprehensive about it than he is.

12. I'm trying, again, to remember

how old he is. Is this second grade?

13. he is eight and going into the third grade

but we had some problems/concerns last year because he was far ahead of his classmates and had to be placed in the fourth grade class for reading/writing and math. He liked the work there but not being away from his second grade classmates. And he took a little bit of ribbing for it too. not sure what is going to happen this year.

the school talked about moving him up two grades permenantly but that got a big fat veto from D.

Good on him (and you) for his skill level, but I know that's gotta be hard on him socially. I've got several kids this year who are either advanced or delayed in their math processing, and pretty dramatically. It's not easy - all best to you and D! :)

until the end of September, but there'll be faculty meetings starting the 15th.

Until then, I'll actually be getting paid a living wage.
