Du Gathering in So Cal

Last summer, I was honored to host the DU gathering in So Cal and we had a nice crowd and much fun and conversation.

This summer, because of scheduling problems, I haven't been able to host the event, even though it was my sincere hope that I could.

It is my desire to host the event next year, on a date convenient to the greatest number of DUers here in the Southern California area.

I see the events being planned this year and feel sad that I have dropped the ball. I see nothing on the horizon to stop us from getting together again next summer.

Unfortunately, my surgery has been put off until Oct 6 and so I am in a holding pattern. The good news is I feel pretty good and the doctors all say I am doing very well.

I can still do what we said and the weather is still good...it's up to you..there's a thread in the meeting room for a mid September date..if not..then we can still do the date in the meeting room at another location and if you need transportation let me know..we'll get you there...but NO PASS ON ME...my follow up was poor..and I LOST your friggin number again

but I didn't want my actions to prevent Duers from getting together.

Actually, it probably worked out better (for me) as this has been a very, very busy summer.

Thanks so much for hosting last year, it was great! Next year sounds great too, and if you need any help organizing, please don't hesitate to ask!

Maybe we should try to have a less formal gathering for So Cal DUers this summer, perhaps at some bar or restaurant?

... and I'd love to be there.

I'd offer to host the event, but my place is less-than-ideal and will probably become even less-than-less-than-ideal in the near future...

Maybe we could do a BBQ at a park or something?

I'm a great one to push these things but not so good on follow through myself, other than showing up if I know early enough and save the date.

October is summer without the tourists.

One thing: a lot of us are buried with anti-recall work. It would be better after Oct 7th
